| | He's Just Not That Into You
Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, every story we're told implores us to wait for it: the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we're so focused on finding our happy ending we don't learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. And maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe... it's you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is just moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope.
super love.
I'm going to be super ghetto and rent "Twilight" books from the library. Once school starts, I'm going to start rock climbing again -- I really do miss it. Although, I'm not sure which gym I'd like to sign up with. UT rock gym is really lame, because they don't really change their routes. Plus, they don't have that many for me to work on. Yet, they're super cheap, convenient, and I can meet new people from my school :) Austin Rock Gym is a lot more fun, padded and just a chill place to go. I think the best part is that not that many people are from UT, and it's fun to get to know different people. Being on campus all the time kind of annoys me, lol..and it's really nice to get away from everyone and find solace somewhere else. I think if I climb and also start on running, I think I can condition myself for Krav Maga! Before I leave Austin, I DEFINITELY want to get worked on that...I want to sign up in the spring ^^
I thought Kate forgot about me, lol, but I'm so so glad she e-mailed me back! I guess I'll be starting this research thing this fall, and I hope that I'm impressive enough to go to the conference! WHAT WHAT!!
Derreck, my boss from work, asked me if I was going to take the LSAT soon. I told him that I'm not sure if "law" is for me anymore...he told me that if I had any doubt at all, I shouldn't pursue it. Uhhh yeah, I'm going to take the certified lawyer's advice..I think he would know more than anyone lol.
Since it's my LAST year at UT, I'm definitely going to try my best to make it the MOST memorable year. Freshman year can't be topped, but I would like to change that this year :) I'm going to try really hard to spend time with my pledge sisters before we all move our separate ways. I really do miss them.
-sigh- I don't know what's ahead for me in the future. I'm beginning to dwell on some things I had placed in the back of my mind, and I'm currently trying to sort that out. I hope I find the answer s soon. Ah well...one day at a time, right? :)
2009-2010, please be good to me!!!
I think it's so fun watching MMA fights! I'm excited to watch BJ Penn again.......he's a hoss! ^^
